
Packing List
YOUTH GROUP TOOL LIST: Each person is asked to bring the following items to CHWC. We depend on campers for these tools and supplies. Please turn these tools in when you arrive at your camp location. These will not be returned to you.
- Paintbrush
- Roller Cover
- Drop cloth
- Painters tape
- Paint tray or small bucket
- Paint scraper
- Rags for cleaning
Alternative Option, Home Depot Gift Cards: To help save on space, we have also introduced the option of accepting Home Depot gift cards as an alternative to bringing the physical items above.
- Suggested contribution: $10-$20 per person.
- Please exclusively provide Home Depot cards (no generic gift cards or other hardware stores).
- Quick tip: You can purchase these online from retailers such as Amazon or directly from the Home Depot website.
- We kindly ask that all funds be consolidated onto a single gift card per group, with the amount written on it (if not visible on the packaging). If consolidating funds isn’t possible, contact leaders are asked to collect all the cards from your group, ensure the amount is clearly visible or written on each card, and then turn them in all together at check-in.
PERSONAL SAFETY LIST: Each person is required to bring the following items to CHWC. Please put them in a small backpack and take them to your worksite. These tools will not be collected.
- Small insulated water jug
- Safety goggles
- Work gloves
- Face-mask for scraping/painting
PERSONAL SUPPLY LIST:
- Pillow
- Sleeping bag or sheets & blanket
- Air mattress or Foam pad (excluding Niagara Falls)
- Please bring twin-size only—no king or queen size. Sleeping quarters can be tight.
- Casual/comfortable clothes
- Old T-shirts with sleeves (shirts without sleeves not permitted)
- Work jeans
- Shorts (short shorts prohibited)
- Socks
- Sturdy shoes or work boots
- Cap/hat
- Rain gear (optional)
- Bathing suit (mandatory) and flip-flops
- Toothbrush/toothpaste
- Soap/shampoo
- Deodorant
- Suntan lotion/sunscreen
- Towels/washcloths
- Plastic bag for dirty clothes (there are no facilities or time allotted for doing laundry)
- If it is absolutely necessary, an adult chaperone can bring what is needed to a nearby laundromat during free time. We ask that they not miss any programs or camp activities to do so, though.
Neon Night: Celebrate your last day of service in style! Get creative, wear your brightest neon or white outfits, and light up the night with glow accessories.
- Bright Outfit – Neon, white, or anything reflective.
- Glow Accessories – Bring glow sticks, LED gear, and anything that shines!

ADULT CAMPER SUPPLY LIST:
- We require one cooler for every adult (21 & older).
- The coolers are used to keep lunches cool and distributed at the worksites of your group members.
- Portable insulated bags are also acceptable. View Example Option.
- Medications: If a camper needs over-the-counter medication, the camp nurse may provide recommendations, but the youth minister or contact leader must inform the camper’s parents, obtain the medication, and oversee its use
- CHWC staff and the camp nurse cannot administer any medication, including prescriptions.
- The first-aid kit will not include items like Tylenol, cold medicine, or antacids. Consider bringing any necessary medications for your group.
NOTE: Catholic HEART Workcamp cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen materials such as clothes, jewelry, cell phones, etc. Therefore, please limit the number of valuables and possessions you bring.
